Intermediate Life Support
Aims & Objectives
The Intermediate Life Support Course aims to equip those who may have to respond to a sudden emergency. This Course takes the training one step further from basic life support. The trainee gains additional tuition in spotting the sick patient, airway management, simple airway adjuncts, advisory defibrillation, and practical scenario training. All training is delivered by ALS instructors working within NHS acute care. All candidates will receive a copy of the current Resuscitation Council (UK) manual.

Course Duration

Delivery Technique
This course is delivered via a range of techniques including:
- Instructor Led Presentation
- Group Discussion
- Practical Sessions
- Scenario Based Training
The amount of different methods of presentation is flexible to suit the needs of the group.
Course Assessment
This course is subject to ongoing assessment by the Instructor throughout the course. There is no final assessment. Competency based documented assessment ensures the required level of understanding.
Course Certification
All successful attendees will be awarded a certificate which will be valid for 1 year (6 month AED refresher required)
