Medical Emergencies in the Dental Practice
Aims & Objectives
The aim of the course is to give the candidate the skills required to recognise and treat common medical emergencies. Subjects covered include, Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Fits, airway management, cardiac arrest and paediatric emergencies.
This course has been developed by us and the London Dental Deanery. It meets all the recommendations by the General Dental Council and the Resuscitation Council (UK).
It can be delivered at your work place to groups or you can attend an open course available in Manchester, Birmingham, London.It can also be combined with the HSE EFAW course at no extra cost
Course Duration
3 or 6 hours excluding breaks
Delivery Technique
This course is delivered via a range of techniques including:
- Instructor Led Presentation
- Group Discussion
- Practical Sessions
The amount of different methods of presentation is flexible to suit the needs of the group.
Course Assessment
This course is subject to ongoing assessment by the Instructor throughout the course. There is no final assessment. Competency based documented assessment ensures the required level of understanding.
Course Certification
All successful attendees will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
